This sofa is actually a little bit smaller than the stated 77". I had a 78 inch space, and was worried that this sleeper wouldn't fit. One of the sales people at SIS assured me it would- and said in fact they (SIS) add about an inch too all their stated measurements. "Better safe than sorry" I think is how he put it...Better indeed! I have enough space left to drop my phone between the edge of the couch and the wall...
