On Friday, April 27th you may have noticed a lot of changes take place on our homepage. Don’t know about you, but we’re excited.

New Banners–We recently implemented a Buy More Save More discount program for all of our sleeper sofas. We wanted to showcase this offer with a homepage banner, but quite simply, we didn’t have any real estate left! The new left side bubble menu and navigation allowed us to add a 5th ‘slide’. Our Air-Dream Sleeper Mattress has gotten a makeover!

For years, the Air-Dream mattress has been a most popular sleeper bed option—as the only mattress to offer the height profile of a more standard bedroom set. The mattress essentially consists of two parts; an innerspring base level (very similar to our Dreamsleeper Plush mattress), along with an air bladder above. Deflated, the mattress is still 5.5 inches thick. After inflation, there is a 12” bed for your guests to sleep on.

Panton, the world’s top authority on color, has officially declared Tangerine Tango color of the year for 2012.

Described by Pantone as “sophisticated, dramatic and seductive, Tangerine Tango marries the vivaciousness and adrenalin rush of red with the friendliness and warmth of yellow, to form a high-visibility, magnetic hue that emanates heat and energy.”

Tangerine Tango will get a lot of love this year—ranging from clothing, wallpaper, furniture in general, and of course, sleeper sofas.

Leather!

For those of you who love leather furniture, we thought it would be interesting to provide a bit of background to one of the most diverse materials in the world. Documented back to pre-historic times, leather has long been used for shelter, clothing, and other basic needs. Now, it is used to make the wallets we carry, the shoes we walk in, and of course the sleeper sofas we sit on! The first sofa-bed ever?

Sofa-beds have come a long way since 1871. Now, one can actually get a night’s sleep without disfiguring their back; a concept that really wasn’t brought to fruition until about a decade ago. Also, sleeper sofas aren’t as cumbersome as what is shown in the photo above–no longer is a forklift required to remove the bed. Today’s sofa-beds can even fit in the tiniest spaces (i.e. the Kingsley Full).
