Do yourself a favor and go with the mattress upgrade. I went with the gel-infused memory foam mattress and wow, it is unlike any sleeper I've ever seen. It was an extra $350 but it was worth it, it's not just comfortable for a sleeper sofa, it's legitmately a comfortable bed.

Regarding the Zurich: What is the difference in the size of the bed (mattress and over all) on the chair and the twin?

  The Zurich Chair Sleeper includes a 34" wide mattress; while the Zurich Twin Sleeper includes a 37" wide mattress. Overall, the Zurich Chair Sleeper has a length of 54"; while the Zurich Twin Sleeper is 62" across.

How tall are the legs and can/may I disassemble them to fit into my apartment door?

  The legs on the Zurich are approximately 3" tall. They can be easily removed and it should fit through a doorway of 32" or more.
