This sofa gets the job done. There's nothing too unique about it, it's just a nice simple couch with a high-quality sleeper. By the way, my five year old son calls it the graham cracker couch, because of the tufted cushions. I see what he's saying. Maybe you should consider giving him a job naming these things?

What is the mattress made out of and how thick is it?

  The Carlten Full Sleeper by Palliser includes an innerspring mattress which is about 5.5" thick. The mattress rests on a premium mechanism with a bar that has been lowered, compared to a standard sofa bed.
